At the Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA), the largest consumer electronics show in Europe, technology companies such as Samsung, Sony, and Logitech introduced brand-new devices. From 8K TVs to gaming laptops, here are just a few of the new products previewed during the show.

Televisions have come a long way from large boxes and grainy pictures. At IFA, new 8K TVs were displayed. These TVs have nearly 33 million pixels, which is about 16 times as many as High Definition TVs. With this many pixels, picture detail and sharpness will be extraordinary.

Along with televisions, smart speakers were also seen at IFA. Bose developed the Home Speaker 500 to compete with other smart speakers. The 8” speaker has a screen to display the album cover and buttons on the top to pause, play, and skip tracks. Amazon Alexa is also built into the device. Additionally, the drivers face away from each other to ensure that sound fills the entire room. Unfortunately, with a price tag of $400, many people may turn away from this device.
Sony’s new phone, the Xperia XZ3, was also featured at IFA to compete with the Galaxy Note 9. The Xperia has a Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 64GB of internal storage, and a 19-megapixel camera allowing users to record 4K videos in standard or slow motion. The front-facing 13-megapixel camera includes a flash and blurring effect to make the subject stand out from the background.

Another device introduced at IFA was Acer’s gaming chair. This pod-like chair has three 27” monitors, a 140 degree recline, and vibration feedback. Players will feel like they are truly in the game with this throne. Acer also revealed the Triton 900 gaming laptop. The most unique aspect of this 17” laptop is the hinged screen allowing it to transform into a tablet. The laptop also has a 4K touchscreen, metal cooling fan, and a mechanical keyboard.
IFA continues to exhibit an impressive array of new technology, ranging from TVs to gaming laptops. With the next show in September of 2019, more information about the previously mentioned devices, as well as new technology, is guaranteed to be in the spotlight.
